Many moms deal with weight gain as a result of pregnancy. It is no surprise as our bodies change so much during pregnancy. I found that all these worked together to make a difference.

  1. Stay hydrated. Apart from contributing to helping you to stay fuller for longer, drinking plenty of water also helps you to burn more calories.
  2. Attempt to get more sleep. Studies have shown that the more sleep you get, the more fat you can lose.
  3. Wear a belly band. Waist trainers or belly bands like these may be helpful for you in trying to lose your apron belly. One of the ways in which it could help is through water loss as you are likely to sweat a lot in your abdominal area when wearing a belly band. While some women find that it helps, others do not note any difference. If you do decide to give these a try, it is important that you do not wrap it too tight as this can be dangerous for your internal organs.
  4. Increase your intake of fruits and vegetables. Changing your diet is definitely one of the best ways to lose weight on any part of your body. Focus on fruits and vegetables and reduce your intake of fats and sugars to start seeing a difference. Think less processed foods and more nuts, seeds, eggs and fish, for example.
  5. Regular targeted exercise. Raising your heart rate daily with some exercise can make a ton of difference not just for your apron belly but for your entire body. It can increase your core strength which will mean you are better able to handle your busy life as a mom. Incorporate some of the following exercise moves into your daily routine and you will notice some change in your fitness levels over a period of time.

  1. Planks

These make you tighten and control your abdominal region. It also increases your core strength.

  1. Crunches

This is yet another core move that targets all your abdominal muscles.

  1. Mountain climbing

Luckily, not literally. In the comfort of your home, simulating mountain climbing with wide, long stretches will get your pulse racing and burn calories. 

  1.  Squats

There are quite a few areas of your body that squats develop and your abdominal muscles are one of them. They will not only build muscle but also burn fat in the abdominal area.

  1. Burpees

These are an awesome sort of all-in-one exercise. They are not easy but if you can be dedicated enough to do them frequently, they will help you burn fat quickly and also increase your metabolism.
