Blogmas day 5

Can you imagine doing the same thing every day in as many different ways as possible? And getting various results each time? That's what life often feels like to me. Hopefully though, more often than not, whatever it is that you do each day is fun or at least enjoyable. I think that's what everybody aims at when they're considering their career options. Even if not early on, then later on in life. I often wonder how many people are truly in careers that they love and would choose again if they had a chance to go back and forge…

Why are divorce rates rising?

Why are divorce rates rising?

How true is it that divorce rates worldwide really are rising? I don't know but studies show it to be true. Research has found that the more highly educated a woman is, the less likely she is to end up divorced. I wouldn’t have guessed that. I would have thought it would be the reverse. I would also have thought that education has no bearing on the likelihood of a man ending up divorced but I haven’t read up on any research on general divorce rates among men. Blissful nothing (Blogmas Day 2)

It's a new month! Thank God for life and the chance to be better! I've got a very few weeks coming up for the holidays so today's blissful nothing of a day was very much appreciated indeed. What did we get up to? We finished up Goliath (the tv show). No spoiler alerts, if it's something you watch, but I'll just say I was disappointed with what the final season turned into and how it ended. We did quite a bit of cooking and hubs and baby did quite a bit of sleeping! Such a perfect family day. It was…

Blogmas Day 1: Christmas Marketing

I can do this. I can carve out a little time each day to write a post - long or short - about how the day's gone or is going. It will my daily catharsis. Lord knows I need it. Honestly, I'll try my best because I'll enjoy doing. Not because I know anyone will actually be reading it! If anyone is reading it though, I hope you enjoy the teeny bits of mundane that I'll be sharing. Some days may well be some pre-scheduled posts instead and other may be...absolutely nothing because I'm too tired to type. Some days…

German recipes: Tasting our new home

In trying to get a proper feel of our new environment, we determined to consume as much authenticity as we could. By that, I mean literally sticking to authentically German menus where possible. I must say, living in Bonn, I'm finding that it's not the easiest thing to do. Apart from great pubs/bars, the majority of restaurants we see around us are either Italian or French. I'll have to resort to trying out some German recipes at home myself. See below for links to some of the recipes I'll be following over the coming months. German vs British: Our honest experience so far

It's been six months since we were last here in Germany and just over two weeks since we came back. In the time since we've been back, the cultural differences between Germany and the UK have hit me all over again! Before I go on, I must preface this by saying that we (as a family) like Germany. We love a lot about the part we're in at least! The other parts of Germany I've visited in the past, I can't remember clearly enough as I was very young. This also means that everything we say here is from the…
