I got my son the Hot Wheels Mega Garage for Christmas last year. He’s 3 years old and loves cars so it was sort of a no brainer. If you’re looking for an authentic and useful Hot Wheels Mega Garage review, here’s one for you.
So for £39.99 (full price), I got a 4 level parking garage which is supposed to be able to hold 41 cars. It came with only one car (which I found a tad bit annoying). I had to purchase the cars separately. I knew using it with only one car would be underwhelming for my son so I got a 10-pack assortment of basic Hot Wheels cars to go with it. That cost £9.99. I don’t remember now if it was full price but I now see something very similar to that pack which is £11.99.

It took me around 30 minutes to put it together but honestly I think it would have been quicker if I wasn’t simultaneously trying to assemble something else for my daughter. I’d say actual time could have otherwise been around 15 minutes.
Now for pros and cons. I know that’s what you’re here for because it’s probably how you’ll decide if it’s worth your money.

If you’ve got a little car enthusiast at home, the Hot Wheels Mega Garage looks like a dream come true. Tons of ramps, a working elevator, and space to park loads of cars. Before you grab one though, here’s what to love about it… and what might drive you a little crazy.
Let’s get into it using a table for clarity.
Pros | Cons |
Endless play possibilities – Multiple levels, ramps and an elevator keep kids engaged for a long time. | Assembly can be frustrating – Instructions are not very clear and some parts need extra force to snap into place. |
Great for storage – Holds a good number of cars so helps to keep the collection organized. | Takes up a lot of space – Large footprint makes it difficult to store in smaller rooms. |
Fun interactive features – Working elevator and ramps add to the excitement. | Elevator can be tricky for younger kids – Can be stiff and may need adult help to operate smoothly. |
Durable build – Sturdy plastic construction withstands rough play. | Cars sometimes get stuck – Some ramps may not work smoothly, especially for smaller or non-Hot Wheels cars. My son has a little dinosaur car that looks exactly the same size as the other Hot Wheels cars but won’t fit which can sometimes cause some frustration. |
Who’s it best for?
I think my son might have been too young a year ago to really enjoy it so it’s right that it’s made for ages 4 and up. However, at 3, he is loving it and no aspect of it seems unsafe for him. If your kid enjoys imaginative and hands-on play, it’s perfect for them.
If you have a family with lots of kids, it’s ideal. The large design allows for more than one child to play comfortably at the same time so it’s great for siblings or playdates.
With multiple parking spaces and compatibility with other Hot Wheels sets, it’s ideal for kids (or even adults like you) who love growing their Hot Wheels collection.

My final verdict
This is definitely a fantastic playset for Hot Wheels fans because you get at least an hour of entertainment and also storage for a growing car collection. However, assembly can be a challenge and it takes up a lot of space. Then again, don’t all kids’ toys take up too much space?

I love this toy as I grew up!
This toy looks like a lot of fun. I babysit a nephew of mine that loves playing with cars. It’s really cool that you can park all the toy cars so it does not take up extra space. I appreciate this post! Thank you ♥
My son had a couple versions of the Hot Wheels Garage and absolutely loved it!! Great review!
