What Psalm says to stop worrying?

Psalm 55:22 is often cited as a verse that encourages people to stop worrying and trust in God.

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”

I find it reassuring because it encourages believers to trust God with their worries and burdens so that He can provide support and stability in their lives.

A prayer for anxiety can be a personal and comforting way to seek peace and relief. Here’s a heartfelt prayer that I find helpful:

Heavenly Father,

I come before You with a heart weighed down by anxiety. In the midst of my worries and my fears, I need Your comforting presence and divine peace.

Your Word tells me to cast all my anxieties on You because You care for me (1 Peter 5:7). So I lay my burdens at Your feet, trusting that You will take care of me.

Please calm my troubled mind and soothe my restless spirit. Remind me of Your promises and Your unfailing love. Help me to focus on Your goodness and faithfulness rather than on my fears.

Grant me the strength to face each day with courage and hope, knowing that You are with me. Fill me with that peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding my heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).

Thank You, Lord, for being my refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). I trust in Your perfect plan and rest in Your love.

In Jesus’ name, I pray,

Amen.

What does the Bible say about crippling anxiety?

PIN FOR LATER

The Bible has several verses that address anxiety, providing comfort and guidance for people experiencing crippling anxiety. For example, Psalm 34:4 says, “I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.” This verse emphasizes the importance of seeking God in times of distress and trusting in His ability to deliver us from our fears.

It reassures believers that God listens to their prayers and provides relief from their anxieties.

Another of the best anxiety psalms is Psalm 55:22, which we already discussed above. It highlights the steadfast nature of God’s care and His commitment to keeping the righteous secure.

In Psalm 94:19, the scripture reads, “When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.” This anxiety psalm shows how God’s comfort can bring joy even when anxiety feels overwhelming. It emphasizes the comforting power of God’s consolation in the face of intense worry.

Philippians 4:6-7 is a direct command and promise regarding anxiety: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Here, the apostle Paul advises believers to bring their anxieties to God through prayer, emphasizing gratitude even in difficult times.

The promise is that God’s peace, which surpasses human understanding, will protect their hearts and minds.

1 Peter 5:7 encourages, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” This verse reassures believers of God’s personal care and invites them to unload all their anxieties onto Him, knowing He is concerned about their well-being.

Finally, Matthew 6:34 says, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Jesus teaches the importance of focusing on the present instead of being consumed by worries about the future. It encourages trust in God’s provision and care for each day as it comes.
