7 things I learned working in the financial services industry

My experience is of course mine alone. I don't speak for anyone else. Many different factors could have led to my lessons in the financial services industry, including my genuine level of interest in the industry and my outlook on life during that time. My lessons are also restricted to the UK industry. Essentially, the industry is a fantastic reflection of the real world. There's so much bulls***ing going on. There are a lot of people who have absolutely no clue what they're doing in their roles. People who are pretending to know their jobs very well. I was one…

Blogmas Day 25: Operation ZZ

I can happily report that Operation Zen Zone (ZZ) is going far better than I expected. Of course, a few things have happened that could have caused me to panic or lose my mind in some other way but thankfully, I've been relatively calm and I'm almost enjoying Christmas. I explained. They replied with something along the lines of "Ah not what I thought you meant then. I'd rather not". Now I'm left wondering how many different meanings of "Christmas/new year tag" there could be for a blogger.

Blogmas day 13: Maternity healthcare differences

I know. I know. Not even halfway through the month and I've already started to skip alternate days. Well it's just one day so far and yesterday was blah so...yeah. Today though, I met up with the fellow expat here who's the wife of hub's colleague. Her baby is lovely and slept right through the entire meet up which is amazing to me. So teeny tiny at 3 months. She reminded me of how tiny Baby E was at her age. We got to talking about her birth experience here in Germany and contrary to what I've read in expat…
